About the job:
A fast growing automotive electronics company is looking for a versatile Electrical Engineer to work in their headquarters in Troy, Michigan. Candidate will work with automotive OEMs and Tier I customers, manufacturing, and program teams to engineer and design unique PCB assemblies for new exterior and interior lighting programs. The ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while executing time sensitive deliverables is required.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with design/engineering teams on design review, test plan development and documentation per OEM and Tier 1 customer requirement. Design and develop a circuit system per various customer requirements, which may require working with IC suppliers/3rd party design groups to get a quick turn preliminary design and be able to create BOM. Present technical or non-technical product designs to wide range of customers. That include details of the electronic design and manufacturing capability. Coordinate designing and fabricating prototypes; perform troubleshooting and worst case circuit analysis.
Minimum qualifications:
3 years? experience electronics system or hardware design, verification or mass production. Knowledge of digital and analog circuitry. Working knowledge of microcontrollers and familiarity of LED/RGB circuit design. Working knowledge of power regulation methodologies. Analytical background in circuit analysis. Experienced in end-to-end electronics design cycle, manufacturing process, EMC and environment testing requirement. Schematic capturing and PCB design with Altium software or equivalent. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Solid understanding in electrical engineering design/design for manufacturing. Experienced in high/mid power LED automotive applications. Familiar with Automotive Communication protocols. Power converter design - DC/DC or linear type. Robust EMC circuit/PCB design.
Familiar with environmental tests requirement and be able to supervise DVP&R. Familiar with EMC test requirement and be able to create an EMC test plan. Experienced in OEM or Tier 1 design requirement. Proficiency in Altium designer. Be able to create a BOM. Good understanding in programming language. Experienced in working with cross-functional teams. Ability to explain complex system to non-engineers. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
