ABOUT THE ROLE:
This position is responsible for repair, maintenance, and installation of plant electrical equipment, and requires good working knowledge of NEC code, electrical standards, pressure and temperature transmitters, PLC’s, AC and DC drives, motors and their controls.

Subject to applicable law, Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to
pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
- Must be able to meet on-call responsibilities as well as emergency call-out to support 24/7 operations.

The employee will frequently be required to walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, confined space, outside weather conditions, low lighting, artificial lighting, and explosives. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, proximity to electrical equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Qualifications:
Required Education: High School diploma/GED
Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Technology
Certificates, Licenses Registrations: Valid Driver’s License
Travel Requirements: Some travel
Required Work Experience:
Strong Safety-Orientation
0 - 2 years’ experience in the electrical field or related industry.
Computer literacy
Preferred Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the electrical field in the cement manufacturing or related industry, Apprenticeship or Journeyman is a Plus.
Knowledge of RCA and problem solving tools.
A working knowledge of lighting systems, plant power distribution systems, instrumentation devices & systems, motors drives & controls, communication systems and stand-by power systems.
Experience with troubleshooting/installation 120V – 480V electrical systems, experience with Medium Voltage Systems is a Plus.
PLC and relay logic troubleshooting experience is a plus.
Knowledge in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
Welding skills are desirable.
Key Responsibilities:

Install electrical equipment, conductors, instrumentation, lighting and conduit in accordance with the National Electric Code.
Troubleshoot electrical problems in a systematic, logical manner to determine reasons for failures and necessary steps to make repairs.
Use the SAP system to document work and track parts used.
Work effectively with other plant personnel to resolve problems not necessarily related to electrical.
Operate mobile equipment needed in performance of the job in a safe manner and within plant guidelines (forklift, man lift, truck)
Actively participate and contribute to training necessary in the performance of this position.
Perform such other duties, including those not related to craft, as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
Occasionally work with and/or oversee contractors when needed.
Operate with minimal supervision.
Respond to call-outs during non-work hours as needed.
Make estimates of material requirements and prepare requisitions and reports.
Create and update work orders in the SAP system.
Be able to read and work from schematics and detailed instructions.
Perform all job assignments using the prescribed safety equipment and procedures in a professional manner.
Maintain work areas in clean and organized condition.
