Who is Petalura?
We’re a team of merchants, designers, photographers, copywriters, stylists, and art directors who met in 2004 while working on the National Geographic gift catalog and online store.
After more than a decade of creative collaboration, the time was right to strike out on our own. In late 2017 we launched Petalura to share our love of global craft and design, and to highlight unique artisan-made goods from around the world.
Our symbol:
Named for a species of dragonfly, Petalura symbolizes change, transformation, and adaptability. After all, dragonflies spend most of their lives underwater before maturing into their most splendid, iridescent, adult form. It’s a metaphor we’ve grown to love: emerging from a period of change as brighter, stronger versions of ourselves.

Skills we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who…
- Is eager to learn about best practices in delighting our customers with excellent customer service . This is the most important factor in your success.
- E-commerce tech savvy, experience with Shopify and customer service software preferred.
- Is friendly and energetic.
- Is detailed oriented and confident in their accuracy.
- Is a self-starter who does not let projects go unfinished.
Who this is not for:
- Someone who is not interested in learning new skills.
- Someone who is only motivated by a boss telling him or her to work harder.

We’re looking for people who can demonstrate they hold themselves to a higher standard in everything they do.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Answering calls to take orders
- Answering calls to set up returns/exchanges
- Answering calls to assist in any customer service issues
