We are seeking a highly motivated Production Supervisor to oversee our operations in a dynamic food processing plant. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production processes while adhering to FDA regulations and maintaining the highest standards of food safety.
Responsibilities:
Lead your production shift, effectively delegating tasks and ensuring all team members understand their roles.
Foster a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), following the employee handbook, and reporting any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions.
Oversee the entire baking process, guaranteeing quality standards are met at every step. This involves working closely with Quality Control and ensuring adherence to formulas and proper sanitation protocols.
Manage inventory, reporting shortages and maintaining a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) approach to ingredients.
Act as the go-to person for HR matters on your shift. This includes handling attendance reports, time off requests, and addressing any disciplinary concerns following established procedures.
Respond effectively to accidents or injuries by following proper protocol for reporting and documentation.
Develop your team by conducting annual reviews, providing training for new hires, and offering constructive feedback to improve productivity.
Ensure breaks and meals are taken according to company policy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in production and packaging environments.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is a plus. Experience in food manufacturing can substitute for formal education.
Proven experience supervising and managing a team of 5-10 direct reports.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role.
Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, stacking, and carrying objects.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work comfortably in a warm environment.
Experience implementing and overseeing training programs is a plus.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Prior experience in food manufacturing, with a focus on the baking and pastry industry, is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of relevant state and local employment laws, company policies, and procedures.
Proficiency in using basic technology like computers, cell phones, printers, and copy machines.
