Equity Research Associate – US Medical Supplies and Devices (Medtech)
Job description:
We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, analytical, and capable with data-driven projects to join our US Medical Device team in NY. The ideal candidate should also have strong written and oral communication skills, proven financial modeling capabilities, and a strong interest in stocks. The candidate will directly support the Senior Analyst by conducting proprietary research both on individual companies within our coverage universe as well as on the broader healthcare sector. This includes closely monitoring news and trends in the healthcare industry and tracking fundamental developments for products across multiple therapeutic categories, among others. The associate will be responsible for writing research reports, financial modeling, conducting channel-checks and surveys, and performing due diligence with key medical experts and opinion leaders. Moreover, the role will involve significant and regular interactions with company management teams, internal corporate constituencies (e.g., sales and trading), and buyside clients. Candidates should have a strong interest in working in the securities industry.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in medical device/healthcare equity research or investment banking preferred. Strong written/verbal communication skills and prior experience in building/maintaining financial models utilizing excel. Applicant should have a basic understanding of accounting and financial analysis (NPV, DCF, etc.)
- The applicant should be comfortable in conducting primary research based on analysis of scientific literature and communicating with medical experts/key opinion leaders and executive management teams.

Responsibilities will include:
- Support team of publishing analysts covering the US Medical Device & Diagnostic subsectors.
- Conduct proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape, analyzing industry news and company filings, attending conferences, and speaking with key opinion leaders
- Build and maintain financial models
- Manage industry-oriented data projects and databases
- Closely monitoring healthcare industry news and trends
- Write research reports for initiations of coverage, analysis of data, and industry/company specific news flow
- Conceive and execute on differentiated project ideas
- Interface with company management teams, internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investors
- Maintain relationships with industry contacts
- Execute corporate access events including company non-deal roadshows, conferences, summits (some travel may be required)
Help coordinate team’s research product flow and scheduling

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $100,000 - $135,000
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
