Shift Details:
- Monday through Friday: 8/8:30am to 5/5:30pm
- Per DCFS: we need a copy of college transcripts with ECE courses and or CDA certificate
- DCFS and Health Department requires physical, TB test, proof of MMR vaccines and T-dap on the DCFS form (if hired, will go over paperwork)
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Planning, supervising and implementing the program for child care in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the center.
- Gearing the program to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents, and individual styles and paces of learning.
- Perform daily activities, including setting up the classroom, conducting activities, and cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment
- Participating in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth.
- Assisting in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children
- Prepare and turn in monthly lesson plans and monthly newsletters, these are to be available to the parents by the first of every month. Deadline for turning lesson plans in is the last Monday of every month.
- Must participate in 15 hours of in-service training or off site training per calendar year.
Qualifications: DCFS Standards
Early childhood teachers and school-age workers shall be at least 19 years of age.
Early childhood teachers and school-age workers shall have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
In addition to meeting the requirements of Section 407.100, the early childhood teacher responsible for a group of children that includes infants, toddler or preschool-age children shall have achieved:
- 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with 6 or more semesters or 9 quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six with an Associates degree or higher or Completion of credentialing programs approved by the Department in accordance with DCFS guidelines.
- Two years(1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery, school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center
Completion of certified first-aid and CPR course for infants and young children.
Demonstration of successful experience with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Ability and willingness to maintain absolute confidentiality of sensitive information.
Demonstration of professional communication with a variety of people including coworkers, parents and volunteers.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Commitment to continued education
Must have reliable transportation.
Must pass a criminal background check.
