***This position is based in Denver, CO, and is typically a Monday -Friday workweek.
There are times throughout the year when working a Saturday or Sunday is needed as part of the plan to impact others.
As an HR Business Partner, you will interpret and enforce company policies and coach managers on all aspects of leadership and employee/labor relations. You will help to define the organization's talent needs, including organization structure and staffing. You will work with managers and employees to address issues and concerns requiring judgment. As a critical organizational culture leader, you will counsel employees on work-related challenges and guide managers concerning implementing Human Resources programs for a function or location. You will also act as a change agent to enable the growth & development of our people. This role partners with the HR Director and Owners of the business.
Your Responsibilities will include
- The role does have direct reports. Currently, the HR Department is a 5-person team with roles in Administration assistant, HR assistants, Hiring and orientation, payroll, risk management, and vendor management.
- Coach and develop others in the areas of performance management and talent development.
- Manage initial investigations of employee complaints and alleged policy violations, escalating where necessary.
- Partner with the HR Team to implement and monitor HR compliance with GJ Mac policy, HR systems, and applicable federal/state law (including but not limited to 1-9s, personnel files, Worker’s Compensation, EEO, ADA, FMLA, FMLI).
- Create a compliance team within HR to implement and provide ongoing routines and processes.
- Partner with our Leadership team to track and report on hiring needs and the development of managers' soft skills, which will positively impact the working environment and culture.
- Apply analytical skills to collect and synthesize data, tell the story, and formulate recommendations based on data trends and insights.
- The role offers the opportunity to directly shape the company's trajectory and effectiveness.
- Create and implement recognition programs for all employees to impact job satisfaction and retention.
- Travel around the Denver area is required. This position is office-based, and we have 15 locations in and around Denver that you will need to visit.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential is strongly preferred.
- Experience in high-growth environments and building and running people programs at large and small companies, including startup environments.
- Experience across multiple people functions and collaboration with Senior Leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and utilize data for effective decision-making.
- Ability to translate priorities into strategic and operational plans.
- Training skills to lead investigative and development conversations.
- Ability to manage a direct team and support an organization's strategy.
- Strong business acumen to create People strategies that advance team development and company trajectory.
- Positive, high-energy attitude and ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Ability to work ethically with employee-sensitive information and strong organizational and time management skills.
