We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our team in Austin.
Summary:
The Project Manager will provide overall management decisions. They should establish project objectives through planning and delegation, they will serve as the primary point of contact with the client. They must monitor and control all construction and financial activities in collaboration with the Superintendent and project team. They must maintain positive financial and job safety results.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Communicate and work with the Client
- Participate in web-based meetings, in-person meetings, emails and phone calls with current and potential Clients.
- Develop and maintain Client relationships.
- Coordinate jobsite inspections with the Client’s inspectors and project managers.
- Responsible for Pre-Construction duties
- Attend pre-bid meetings as needed.
- Attend jobsite walks as needed.
- Document Management
- Obtain all project Permits.
- Prepare all project Submittals.
- Request for Information (RFI) and Request for clarification (RFC).
- Do the Daily Reports.
- Record any site Incident reports when necessary.
- Oversee Multiple Construction Projects
- Read and interpret the Contract.
- Identifying the Scope of work.
- Manage Change Orders.
- Ensure work Compliance with the Contract Documents.
- Resolve any conflicts related to site work.
- Preparing the Site Layout and shoot Grades.
- Maintain project Productivity.
- Oversee Project Progress.
- Coordinate with the Site Superintendent, Foreman and Trades (Subcontractors).
- Ensure Quality of work by performing routine quality inspections and quality control.
- Coordinate with the Vendors for material deliveries on site.
- Perform construction contract Closeout and Punchlist.
- Payment Applications and Billing
- Ability to measure the quantity of work done.
- Preparing cost estimates for quantity of work done and billing.
- Lead cost negotiations with the client for billing.
- Prepare the Payment Application with all supporting documents.
- Submitting Payment Applications to Client with due diligence.
- Check Invoices.
- Complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization
- Participate in Training and Certification programs
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
- 2+ years of project managerial experience in either supporting roles or direct project leadership.
- Must have Problem Solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the Organization, as well as with Clients and Vendors.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of software like: Microsoft Project, and Procore.
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods of time on projects outside of office area.
- Ability to relocate to Austin or Greater Austin area.
- A valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Preferred: Prior experience in Road construction, Sidewalk construction, and Driveway construction with the City of Austin (COA) and Capital Contracting Office (CCO) contracts.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English & Spanish.
