Job Description:
The maintenance person will work with the Maintenance Supervisor, to maintain all maintenance activities (equipment, machines, building and grounds) in a professional manner. A maintenance person may be required to come in early, work through breaks, over at the end of the day or weekends as needed to complete maintenance tasks. Working closely with the Maintenance Team Leader the maintenance person will assist in seeing that equipment is functioning at required performance and safety levels. Additionally, this person may be asked to participate in LEAN workshops (kaizen and SMED) held throughout the year and assist in the process of continuous improvement. This includes team problem solving and the potential engineering and/or reengineering of lines and machines.
Skills and Abilities:
The Maintenance Person should have a broad understanding of construction, mechanical operations, hydraulics, electronics, welding and basic electrical wiring. They should have the ability to effectively manage multiple, complex tasks simultaneously and address immediate problems/opportunities while proactively identifying future areas for improvement. The individual should be patient, detail oriented, thorough and have the ability to effectively communicate and work with others.
Key Measurables:
1. Completing assigned tasks on time and with attention to work quality.
2. Fixing issues with production equipment through proper troubleshooting and fixing root causes of the issues.
3. Working quickly to minimize production downtime.
Maintenance Person Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Work with safety and quality in mind at all times
2. Work in a timely and efficient manner on all projects assigned to them
3. Participate in scheduled LEAN workshops to assist in improvements.
4. Assure the building and grounds are maintained to assure a safe working environment and to minimize future repairs.
Maintenance Skill Requirements:
1. Physical Abilities:
1. Must be comfortable with heights (working in the man-lift)
2. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Consecutively
3. Must be able to walk continuously
4. Must be able to work in summer heat and winter conditions
5. Must be able to squat, kneel, bend and reach as conditions require
2. Electrical Skills:
1. Must possess basic working knowledge of 24VDC,110 volt, 240volt,
and 480 volt all-phase system
1. Working knowledge of computers and networking
2. Must possess troubleshooting skills
3. Capable of cutting, assembling, and hanging electrical conduit
4. Must possess knowledge of electrical panels, electrical schematics
including circuit breaker and fuse changing
1. Knowledge of PLC systems and other control systems and install
wiring systems for power and control.
1. . Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and
detect minor equipment problems and correct them before they
become major issues
