Job Description
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Center Director is responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the Extended Child Care center that he/she is assigned to supervise. As the lead person, he/she is responsible for the children, teaching staff, program, facility, budget, record keeping, communication with school, parents, and community, curriculum development and delivery, and all other tasks necessary for the center’s successful operation. Specific hours can be flexible but must include 80% availability when the students are at the center. Mornings from 7-8:45 AM, afternoons on M, T, Th, F from 1:15-6:00 PM, and Wednesday from 12:00-6. Non-floor hours (shopping, curriculum prep, administrative duties etc.) will be available throughout the week. The total hours per week for the position is 37.5 hours. Minimum Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for a Center Director in an Extended Child Care center are outlined in Title 22 of the California State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing regulations and Title 5 Education Code.
o A minimum of 24 Child Development (ECE) units, plus an additional 6 units of Administration.
o A minimum of two years of experience working with children.
o Preferred 16 General Education units or BA degree in a related field.
o Preferred 2 units in adult supervision.
o Possession of Site Supervisor Permit preferred.
o Passed medical, TB, and fingerprint clearance.
o Provide proof of immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles prior to employment.
o Completed CPR, First Aid, and Health & Safety training.
o If minimum qualifications are not met when hired, these qualifications must be met within two years of hire date.
