Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import & Export Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our supply chain operations. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to effectively managing an operations staff.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Assist team and work with air/ocean/trucking/freight forwarders & nvocc's as needed with bookings.
- Work with team to coordinate with shippers, vendors, and customs brokers to provider service delivery of goods.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in operations.
- Train and supervise staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Assist and directing team with all functions involved in the customer supply chain including logistics, customer service, bookings and documentation B/L & invoice preparation.
- Assist in other functions as required by the company.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Proven experience in freight forwarding operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and make informed decisions.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and develop a team.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Familiarity with NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations is a plus
- 3-5 years experience minimum
