UNIIITED Staffing is currently seeking a Control Engineer to join our client, a prominent provider of automation solutions in the material handling and assembly sector. We are searching for a motivated and skilled Controls Engineer.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and demonstrate expertise in designing and programming control systems using Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens, and Mitsubishi platforms. Experience with Eplan and 2D AutoCAD is highly desirable.
In this role, you will be responsible for retrofitting production lines, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the successful implementation of automation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design hardware and software for automation systems, including electrical, pneumatic, PLC, HMI, and drives.
- Develop Bills of Material (BOM) for electrical designs and ensure their accuracy through updates.
- Coordinate with project management to maintain accurate documentation and project status.
- Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and feedback.
- Create and review electrical and fluid drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Develop PLC software programs and customize HMI screens based on customer requirements.
- Offer suggestions for product improvements and provide feedback to project management.
Prerequisites:
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical; knowledge of Eplan preferred.
- Strong familiarity with Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs, and HMIs; experience with other platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of various drives, robots, welding systems, and adhesive dispensing technologies.
- 3-5 years of experience in controls systems engineering preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Robot programming experience, particularly with platforms like ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, Yaskawa/Motoman, Nachi, etc.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% within North America, including Canada and Mexico.
