Seeking a Lead Network Architect/Engineer (Client site) local to Washington, DC and need to have active TS/SCI.
The Network Architect will provide network architecture duties as assigned, in support of mission critical Special Access Program (SAP) network. Under broad direction, provides technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and logical communication solutions having network-wide impact. Will provide solutions that incorporate integration of digital encoding formats, line codes, and timing concepts across engineering disciplines and environments.
As a Network Subject Matter Expert (SME), will influence team members, the customer, and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for the customers voice, data, and image communications requirements. Prepare complex work prints and schematics to define and illustrate entire network structures and solutions. Identify and recommend new design tools for use in communications projects. Identify and recommend product modifications and vendors to incorporate changes necessary in providing the required capabilities of the customer. Perform evaluation of projected corporate network usage to provide and implement proper media solutions. Plan, design, and implement Network Management Systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure performance of multiple communication networks. Identify, analyze, and recommend new network administrative systems to ensure accurate network inventory and timely implementation of network infrastructure.
Technical Requirements
- 10 years of experience with designing and implementing DoD accredited enterprise networks and computing environments, developing, delivering, and managing IT network systems architectures, solutions, and implementations
- 7 years of experience with virtual applications, VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, large networks, AF Gateways, and the DoD Global Information Grid (GiG)
- Experience with designing and implementing large scale DoD environments consisting of computer storage, networking, routing, switching, DNS, firewalls, IDS/OPS, and end user devices
- Ability to report briefings and findings of complex technical and operational topics to the highest level of DoD leadership
- Knowledge of commercial, DoD, and multinational IT architectures
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- BA or BS degree in IT, Information Systems, or Engineering
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Cisco CCNP Certification
- CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP certification
Would like to have:
- M.A. or MS degree in IT, Information Systems, or Engineering
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional — Network Virtualization Design (VCAP-NV Design)
- Cisco CCIE Certification
Clearance:
Applicants will require Active TS/SCI clearance
They will need to get a single scope Poly, we don’t need as a req to start (nice to have), but they will need to be able to get one (they can start on the task and will be put in a queue to get the Poly, might take a few years).
