Job Summary
The Part-time Quality Assurance Test Technician will work a maximum of 29 hours a week to conduct quality assurance testing on medium voltage underground cable as their primary role, while also spending time assisting with a broad variety of laboratory activities associated with NEETRAC test programs with direction provided by NEETRAC Engineers, Coordinators, and experienced Test Technicians. This can include work on power cables and accessories, insulators, HV and MV equipment, tensile machines, setting up and carrying out tests, building controls systems, repairing equipment, etc. Tests may involve subjecting samples to high current, voltage, force, simulated lighting, or flames until destruction.
Job Duties
The Quality Assurance Test Technician will conduct and assist in activities such as:
- Performing quality assurances tests on incoming materials for customers
- Monitoring tests and recording test data
- Basic data processing using Microsoft Excel
- Performing equipment maintenance and repair tasks
- Setting up / constructing electrical and mechanical tests
- Preparing basic test reports
Qualifications
The Quality Assurance Test Technician must be able to:
- Work while standing for 5-6 hours
- Lift 25 lb
- Work with things like chop saws, vices, cutters, lathes, punches, and hot oil
- Work with appropriate PPE (gloves, boots, hard hats, safety glasses, etc.) and follow appropriate dress code and safety protocols for working with machines

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
