The National Field Technical Manager (NFTM) is responsible for managing all Field Technical personnel in coordination with the Regional Technical Managers and the Technical Services Manager. The NFTM is responsible for assisting the Field Technical Team and the Technical Services Manager in the resolution of product application issues, product complaints, and warranty claims on SOP and PRS projects while maintaining strict adherence to SOPREMA Group Company published technical requirements.
The NFTM will serve as a liaison between the Field Technical staff and SOPREMA sales staff. They will be responsible for communicating information about product complaints with the Technical Services Manager, Product Managers, and National Quality & Sustainability Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate current and future work activities to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained in each region / territory.
- Provide monthly activity reports to the Technical Services Manager.
- Coordinate activities and resources between R&D and Field Technical staffs to assist with new product field testing and reporting.
- Evaluate and monitor skills of Field Technical Team to identify and recommend training needs to the Technical Services Manager and for the National Field Technical Meeting.
- Assist the Field Technical Team and the Technical Services Manager in the resolution of product application issues, product complaints, and warranty claims on SOP and PRS projects.
- Assist the Technical Services Manager with planning and implementation of the National Technical Meeting.
- Attend the National Sales Meeting, Technical Review Meetings, and other meetings with the Executive Management team related to the Field Technical Team.
- Provide recommendations to the Technical Services Manager relative to budgets and human resource requirements in the Technical Services department.
- Carry out projects according to the short and long-term objectives of SOPREMA.
· Plan and implement daily and long term duties according to the established priorities.
- Provide support to sales staff to help them achieve SOPREMA’s sales goals.
- Participate in regional activities and exchange with regional SOPREMA sales staff and customers to stay in tune with the market.
· Develop and maintain a strong relationship with all SOPREMA Group Companies.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess or on track to posses Registered Roof Observer (IIBEC-RRO) certification. IIBEC Registered Roof Consultant, Registered Waterproofing Consultant, or Registered Exterior Wall Consultant a plus.
- Relevant experience in construction, preferably for a building materials manufacturing company (Bachelor’s Degree a plus)
- Extensive knowledge of roofing and building envelope materials, concepts, and construction markets
- Hands on experience in the installation of roofing and building envelope materials
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other computer programs relevant to the position.
- Good understanding of sales and marketing techniques and concepts
- Possess a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and limitations
- Possess excellent decision making and interpersonal management skills
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
· This position will require regular / frequent travel in the United States and possibly abroad to work with the Field Technical Staff and assist with resolution of product complaints and warranty claims.
· During travel, expect after-hours dinner meetings and weekend meetings as required to accomplish their duties.
· Anticipate some irregular hours depending on the time of year.
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer are possible.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
· Conduct site visits at construction sites and review material installations.
· Climbing of ladders or descending into trenches and tunnels is likely.
Reports to the Technical Services Manager.
