Responsibilities:
- Originate and manage a pipeline of residential mortgage loans
- Meet with clients to assess their financial needs and provide appropriate loan options
- Guide clients through the loan application process, including gathering necessary documentation and completing required forms
- Conduct thorough underwriting and analysis of loan applications to determine creditworthiness and adherence to lending guidelines
- Negotiate loan terms and conditions with borrowers to ensure mutual satisfaction
- Collaborate with loan processors, underwriters, and other team members to facilitate a smooth loan closing process
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and changes in lending practices
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process
- Opportunities to originate free company generated leads
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Loan Officer or similar role in the mortgage industry
- Strong knowledge of loan origination, underwriting, and loan processing procedures
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Quicken, to analyze financial data
- Familiarity with TILA (Truth in Lending Act) regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and building client relationships
- Experience working with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and products is preferred
- Excellent mathematical skills to accurately calculate loan terms, interest rates, and payments
3+ years of mortgage originating experience, however history of strong production can substitute years of experience. Must be licensed and local to Maryland, DC, Virginia and/or Florida. Must be able to validate experience and production. Incentives include creating a team around the candidate where the SLO/Branch Manager will earn profits based on the team's production. We offer higher than industry standard compensation, but also commensurate with experience. Must be a team-player who communicates well with clients, referral partners, and business partners.
