Scofflaw, a gin-focused cocktail bar in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, is looking for a General Manager. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the business, including bartending, food service, customer service, team management, and overall hospitality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the culinary industry and possess excellent leadership and organizational skills.
General Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead & manage staff, including hiring/onboarding, training, scheduling, terminations.
- Work with the Director of Operations, AGM, Chef, Sous, Floor Manager, and Social Media Manager.
- Lead with a commitment to hospitality and customer service.
- Oversee cost of goods for food & beverage, working with culinary and beverage teams.
- Oversee labor and scheduling needs.
- Maintain relationships with our vendors and representatives.
- Uphold group policies and procedures.
- Daily financial review.
- Arranging equipment repairs and purchases, property maintenance and cleanliness.
- Weekly manager meetings.
This position requires:
- Three years of General Manager experience in a high volume restaurant or bar.
- Basset Certification, within 30 days of hire
- Chicago Food Manager Certification, within 30 days of hire
- Financial literacy to handle day-to-day banking and cash handling.
- Night and Weekend availability.
Schedule & Benefits:
- The General Manager is scheduled 50 hours a week. This consists of admin time, managing services, closing the restaurant, and meetings.
