Duties:
- Help to process and manage payroll for both W2 employees and 1099 independent contractors accurately and timely.
- Assist in the calculation of wages, bonus, per file amounts, deductions, and withholdings
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with the human resources department to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any payroll-related issues
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting, or a related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and payroll processes
- Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and account reconciliation
