Position Description:
Line Cooks are responsible for the station's workflow and being able to get each dish out on time. You are overseeing the cooking process for all the dishes from start to finish and making sure all stations are fully stocked to ensure high quality dishes.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Demonstrates a wide knowledge of high level skills of cooking techniques like grilling, roasting, and pan frying
Having well executed knife skills
Work with a sense of urgency and can multitask
Be a team player
Have an understanding of NY Department of Health protocols for food safety
Possess strong communication skills
Stays positive and calm under pressure

Regular attendance to be upheld with company standards and is essential to be successful in this position. Employees who do not follow regular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action which may include termination of employment.
May work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required for business needs

Specific job knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Ability to walk, stand and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.
The ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking.
Be punctual, focused, dedicated, reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
Physical activities and requirements of this position:
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
Ability to lift at least 50 lb on a regular basis
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Qualifications & Standards:
Education: Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
Experience required: at least 2 years of New York restaurant experience on hot line stations, grill and saute preferred
