As a Platform Engineer in the Infrastructure Engineering organization at Stash, your main Stakeholders are the Product Development Engineers. You will influence and shape the implementation of their daily work experience.
You thrive on collaborating to solve hard problems, are passionate about finding innovative solutions, can recognize toil, and delight in simplifying a complicated system with little to no impact on the end users. One of the most important parts of this role is preventing Tech Debt.
"Addressing existing tech debt is one of your responsibilities, too, but a good Engineer will shepherd our tech in such a way that the most expensive tech debt to FIX won't ever become an issue in the first place."
What you'll be doing as key responsibilities of Platform Engineer:
- Execute complex software engineering projects in the infrastructure area, such as infrastructure tooling consolidation/standardization, CICD architecture, and Internal Developer Portal.
- Codify best practices and choose solutions that are easily testable and eliminate code smells.
- Influence engineers to hold high standards of maintainability and reduce tech debt by writing elegant code and performing effective code reviews.
- Use code reviews as an opportunity to coach and ensure best practices/standards. Considers security and privacy in code and projects.
- Exhibit a deep understanding of abstracting processes to be used by every team.
- Effectively identifies and communicates issues in any system, primarily related to CI/CD and development practices.
- Provide engineering estimates with clear assumptions for assigned tasks and projects.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product engineers, marketing, and security, and evaluates tradeoffs between solutions based on project priorities.
- Suggest process improvements for better quality, velocity, and team engagement.
- Proactively communicates, collaborates and brainstorms with the whole of engineering to better understand the use cases and user journey.
What we're looking for:
- 6+ years of experience (Depending on the open role) Software engineering experience, preferably within the Infrastructure Engineering area.
- 6+ years of experience in highly scalable cloud architectures, including service-oriented architectures (GCP, AWS experience preferred)
- Ability to collaborate well and come up with maintainable, reliable solutions.
- Experience building scalable, high-performing systems.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide both architectural guidance and detailed technical directions.

Salary Range: $135,300 - $202,950
The base salary range represents the reasonably anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and competencies, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data for companies of our size and industry.
