CNC Machinist
This position performs machining operations and is responsible to meet the daily production requirements. This position is dedicated to getting the job done right the first time and promotes a safe work environment focused on overall continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing. This is a swing shift position.
Job Description
- Operate machine while proving out new programs
- Check tooling, setups, program coordinates, and any other information to insure a quality part
- Make all corrections as needed by editing program
- Make necessary notations for changes or corrections in control
- Make suggestions for further improvements in program to shorten run times
- Analyze tooling, setups and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
- Operation involves loading, unloading, and pre-positioning of work in fixtures, checking of parts for conformity with dimensional specifications by use of fixed gages, calipers
- Remain constantly alert to detect improper machining
Education and Experience
- Two-year Machining Technology degree preferred
- Experience in Machine Shop Math
Qualifications
- Horizontal mill setup experience -Preferably FANUC Controls
- Read and understand blueprints
- Have an understanding of CNC G & M code
- Follow directions/instructions step-by-step. Has a working knowledge of speeds, feeds and tooling
- Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to the print and process dimensions
- Able to operate forklift, overhead crane, and other lifting devices
- Perform routine preventative equipment maintenance daily
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Required background screening and drug test
