Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary care is more than just recommending glasses and contact lenses. The optometrist we are seeking should be proficient in managing anterior and posterior segment pathology as part of their daily practice. They should also be at ease with diagnosing and treating a variety of ocular diseases, including but not limited to:
- Treating conditions such as corneal ulcers and uveitis.
- Addressing red eye conditions.
- Diagnosing diseases like diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.
- Removing ocular foreign bodies.
- Diagnosing macular disease, retinal holes, and retinal detachments.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed.
- Handle eyecare emergencies.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of patient diagnoses, treatment regimens, and developmental milestones.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid optometry NYS license
- Outstanding proficiency in clinical techniques and a thorough understanding of optometric procedures.
- Unwavering dedication to providing superior patient care and upholding patient satisfaction.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $124,800.00 - $162,500.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
