Horn Design is a relationship-driven interior architectural firm with a focus on corporate interiors. We are located in River North and celebrating our 40th year! We are seeking a passionate, proactive, creative, and technically proficient interior architect or designer to join our team. Our ideal candidate has at least 7 years in commercial interior architectural design experience. We prefer to bring on a team member for a Full-Time position but are flexible and open to Part-Time Contract position as well (approximately 20 – 30 hours/week).
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
- Expert knowledge in CAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup and other computer related skills
- Proficiency in Revit is a plus
- Comprehensive understanding of Chicago and International Building Codes & ADA requirements
- Extensive Construction Documentation and Project Budgeting experience
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated efficiency, flexibility, and ability to self-manage
- Confident meeting tight deadlines, multitasking and managing multiple projects concurrently
- Familiarity with all phases of project delivery from programming through contract administration
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and thorough
- Ability to communicate and work well within a flexibly remote team environment
- Interfacing with clients and leading projects
Responsibilities:
- Design lead on projects, main point person with clients
- Production and review of technical documentation for corporate interiors (Ability to develop and redline Construction Document sets)
- Generate scope of work documents and review/define budgets
- Develop concept drawings and imagery for schematic and design development presentations
- Presenting design concepts to clients
- Select materials, furniture, fixtures and equipment options for projects
- Manage multiple projects ranging from small to large scale concurrently, and interfacing with clients
Education/Experience:
- At least 7 years commercial interior architectural design experience; A focus in corporate interiors is preferred
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
- Pursuit of NCIDQ Certification or NCARB licensure is a plus
Our team has the flexibility to work remotely, however we are collaborative and prefer to be in office together two – three days per week. Additionally, site visits within the greater Chicagoland area are sometimes necessary, please apply only if you are located within the Chicagoland area.
Compensation: commensurate with experience
