Full Time High School English Teacher:
Location: Valley Village, California
Responsibilities:
- Teach five classes of English literature and language arts across 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.
- Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and academic levels, including gifted/AP students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and academic growth.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students, ensuring both challenge and support as appropriate.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and instructional practices, ensuring consistency and coherence across grade levels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching credential not required but appreciated
- Proven experience teaching high school English, with knowledge of curriculum development and educational best practices.
- Ability to differentiate instruction effectively to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students at varying levels of academic proficiency.
- Familiarity with AP English curriculum and experience preparing students for AP exams is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with students, parents, and colleagues.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM (with some flexibility and minimal meetings).
