Responsibilities include developing and implementing procurement or investment recovery category strategies, issuing Request for Proposals, conducting bidder’s conferences, evaluating proposals, negotiating, and managing contracts, and ensuring compliance to schedule and quality standards. The successful candidate for this high-level individual contributor position will also be expected to provide functional direction..
The Category Manager leads the identification and execution of projects to support the goals of strategic sourcing & procurement.

Develop an effective plan to grow your category line to meet achieved budgeted goals in sales, margin, operating profit, customer acquisition, repurchase, retention, and customer satisfaction.

Develop supply chain inefficiencies i.e., inventory turns, reduction in customer returns, overstock, out of stock, and aging item.

Research and identify opportunities for further mid-term to long-term category business development.

Establish high level vendor partnerships and negotiate optimized business terms and conditions.

Conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.

Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make trade-offs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences.

Work cross-functionally with other departments and business units

Manage the entire category line life cycle from strategic planning to execution management.

Negotiate with vendors to secure the lowest total delivered cost, volume incentives, rebates, advertising and other applicable allowances.

Involved in business channel development.

Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.

Devise long-term development strategies for product categories.
-
Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.

Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.

Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands.

Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.
-
Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.

Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.

Assume responsibility for budget development, reporting, and GMV/EBITDA for the category.

Ability to work autonomously with moderate management oversight.

Experience in facility, warehouse, and/or administrative expense areas a plus.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4+ years of Operations, IT, Facilities, Fleet management category, pricing analysis, and management experience is required.

Multilingual English, and Spanish.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Ability to make recommendations, gain agreement, and implement solutions on behalf of the Procurement Director.

A moderate to complex level of knowledge in:

Spreadsheets - Excel - writing macros, developing formulas, using functions such as pivot and lookup tables.
