About the Position:
At ChemResearch, the Anodize Operator is responsible for processing parts for Anodize plating and other coatings. The operators perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. Employees in this position will process various parts in the Anodize department.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed, have experience in Anodize Plating Operations, and be willing to work the 2nd shift.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and operate various electroplate equipment to plate a variety of parts and materials to required thicknesses in specified areas.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with identified specifications and quality programs.
- Assists and trains other operators and helpers on proper operational procedures.
- Operates plating processes including but not limited to anodize, chrome, nickel, cadmium, electroless nickel, copper, silver, passivate, etc.
- Follow verbal and written Engineering and Quality Control instructions as contained in process procedures, metal finishing sheets, and blueprints, operating in a specified and quality manner.
- Maintains attentiveness to process details and equipment (i.e., timers, temperature controllers and indicators, rectifier amp and volt meters, and other associated equipment)
- The process includes fixtures/racking, masking (tape, lacquer, etc.), surface activation, use of periodic reverse current; the use of bleeders to obtain uniform plating on irregularly shaped parts; the use of filters, pumps, and agitators/mixers.
- Provides input and assists in the build/repair of electroplating fixtures.
- Pre- and post-processing tasks include but are not limited to degreasing, cleaning, blasting, scrubbing, visual and dimensional inspection, baking, and oiling.
- Ability to assess plating tank condition by completing tank side testing or sampling (i.e. PH, etc.),
- Ability to perform part marking, shipping identification, and paperwork.
- Use various measuring tools and gauges such as dial bore, indicator, snap, go-no-go gage, micrometers, calipers, scales, and plating thickness instruments to measure parts and test panels.
- Maintain all required logs, documents, and records as required by process controls.
- Moves material within the cell by operating material handling equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, carts, etc.)
- Performs minor equipment maintenance such as anode and cathode bar cleaning, rack stripping, changing filters, etc.
- May be required to perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the Department Supervisor.
- Inventories receives, and signs for incoming plating material and supplies.
- Works with a positive attitude and reports all questions or problems to the department supervisor.
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Educational and Work Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
- 1 to 2 years experience as an electroplater (e.g., Anodize Plating) in the aerospace & defense industry.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
