SUMMARY:
Under routine direction, responsible for checking in books (general or text) and general merchandise while verifying counts and descriptions match the order.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEPENDING ON LOCATION:

Responsible for scanning boxes in from UPS and FedEx
Responsible for filling out receiving packets
Responsible for boxing goods to be returned to vendors
Responsible for data entry of daily goods
Responsible for notifying buying groups of problems with orders
Responsible for both set-up and take-down of on and off-site events
Able to drive company vehicles
Responsible for assisting with cleanliness of the receiving area
Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The minimum requirement for applicants is a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting, and Computer courses and background preferred. Have a working knowledge of general accounting practices. Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read, write and understand English. Requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, subordinates, vendors, other departments, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Requires the ability to apply basic math concepts; calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILITY:
Requires the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instructions. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work and pay attention to detail.
MANUAL DEXTERITY:
Requires the ability to raise, manipulate, maneuver tools, components and materials and handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. There are occasional requirements to handle objects, tools and controls. May need to use a computer terminal.
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION:
Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift equipment components, parts and machinery. Frequent standing, bending, stooping and/or walking/moving are required. Must be able to move and lift or carry heavy objects, equipment or materials up to 50 pounds. Must be able to operate a forklift, delivery vehicles and hand truck. Physical demand requirements are at levels for active work. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and color vision.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS
Work is regularly performed in a basement that may be dimly lit with exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, dust and airborne particles. Employee works with and near moving mechanical parts. There is some risk of occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and gases, outside weather conditions, extreme cold or heat and loud noises.
BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION:
A background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended by the company and accepted by the applicant and must be satisfactorily completed prior to any applicant beginning work in a full-time, part-time non-student, or sensitive student capacity with Aztec Shops Ltd.
Background checks will include, at minimum, verification of education and employment histories, criminal records, national sex offender registry check, and references. Additionally, based on the nature and scope of the position, the background check may also include a credit report, motor vehicle report, and verification of professional licenses.
