Under general supervision from the Perioperative Systems Business Manager, Director of Perioperative Services, and Executive Director of Perioperative Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of daily charges for time, room, supplies and implants, and confirms all interfaces are working successfully so that patient billing is completed. This person coordinates the development and update of the electronic medical record (EMR) and related clinical and business systems. This position is responsible for managing the perioperative procedure dictionary and supports the development and update of all preference cards. This person works collaboratively with Supply Chain, Chargemaster Coordinator and Finance to ensure data integrity of the perioperative documentation. On a monthly basis this position will provide statistical data to finance and will provide ad-hoc reports to various departments as requested. They will work collaboratively with Perioperative Leadership, Perioperative Staff, the Clinical Informatics team, and personnel from other departments to complete coordinated projects. This position is responsible for the planning, testing, training, adoption, use, and ongoing evolution of the EMR and business systems at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. The Perioperative Clinical Informatics Coordinator serves as a liaison between practicing clinicians and Information Technology (IT) staff to improve the EMR and related clinical and business systems. The Perioperative Clinical Informatics Coordinator strives to further their understanding of both clinical and technical operational processes and incorporates this knowledge to execute best practices in both the clinical and IT disciplines.
