Essential Duties
- · Plan and develop group content and provide a safe and positive environment in the milieu.
- · Oversee or facilitate the individual client participation and collaborate with Therapist regarding progress and treatment plan goals.
- · Provide direction and assistance in supervising residents in crisis intervention, emergency and conflict situation, which may include physical management and/or de-escalation. Debrief with staff and residents after such intervention.
- · Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards clients
- · Develop client treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and client histories.
- · Conduct chemical dependency program orientation sessions.
- · Participate in case conferences or staff meetings.
- · Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or social workers.
- · Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
- · Interview clients, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate individuals' mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program.
- · Plan or implement follow-up or aftercare programs for clients to be discharged from treatment programs.
- · When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.
- Counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist client in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency.
- Counsels family members to assist family in dealing with and providing support for client.
- Refers client to other support services as needed such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.
- Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed.
- Prepares and maintains reports and case histories.
- Formulates and conducts programs to promote prevention of alcohol and drug abuse.
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid licensure or certification as a counselor
- one year experience in substnace abuse treatment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Current CPR certification

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
