Green Valley Therapy also offers alternative healing modalities, including nutritional therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga/mindfulness training, etc., that, in partnership with mental health services, allow for better, more integrative outcomes.
Overview:
The Mental Health Therapist provides therapeutic counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults. The primary focus is facilitating healing and growth by addressing various challenges, from behavioral and emotional difficulties to family conflict.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Clinical Services:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the client's needs and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy based on the client's specific needs.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
2. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as school staff, physicians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss case progress and treatment approaches.
3. Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records per state regulations and agency policy.
- Document sessions, progress notes, treatment plans, and any correspondence related to the client's care within 48 hours of client contact.
4. Continued Education & Training:
- Stay updated with the latest evidence-based practices and research in the field of child and family therapy.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and pursue additional professional development opportunities.
6. Ethical Practice:
- Adhere to the professional standards professional and ethical guidelines (NASW, NBCC, AAMFT).
7. Community Outreach:
- Participate in community events, workshops, and seminars to promote mental health awareness and the practice's services.
- Create content, including blogs that provide knowledge to the client base and promote practice recognition within communities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- State licensure as a Licensed Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, especially those effective with the younger population (i.e., play therapy, art therapy, narrative therapy, TF-CBT, IFS, etc.)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred:
- Specialized training or certification in child and adolescent therapy. (or willingness to learn)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods during therapy sessions.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and photocopiers.
