The Program Tracking Specialist is familiar with using management information systems (MIS) for outreach and recruitment activities by identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data. Through the use of the Workforce Information System of Texas database, the Program Tracking Specialist verifies customer benefits eligibility and continuing employment. The Program Tracking Specialist maintains appropriate databases and acquires data from primary and secondary data sources. The Program Tracking Specialist works closely with management to prioritize informational needs and continuously monitors performance and quality control plans to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understands the Management Information System (MIS)
- Conducts recruitment (outreach) of customers through the use of the MIS.
- Verifies continuing eligibility and employment at the beginning of each month for customers receiving TANF/Food Stamps in the Workforce Information System of Texas (TWIST)
- Date enters funding stream requirements.
- May enter work applications in WorkInTexas.com.
- Creates new customer (Program Detail) records in TWIST.
- Discontinues or continues financial aid.
- Discontinues financial aid (childcare, transportation, etc.) for customers who do not comply with funding requirements.
- Reviews MIS reports to monitor needs for actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
- Ability to understand and interpret a variety of policies and procedures
- Ability to understand and use basic accounting and financial principles
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to effectively and proficiently develop complex spreadsheets using MS Excel
- Ability to manage multiple budgets and multiple funding sources
- Ability to effectively present complex as well as financial information to others
- Ability to define realistic, specific goals and objectives and to prioritize objectives
- Ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of the problem and evaluation of alternate solutions
- Ability to critically think, analyze information, identify trends, and develop strategic courses of action

2 year(s): 6 months of experience substitutes for 15 semester hours of college coursework or two years of experience working at Workforce Solutions and a recommendation from the current or most recent supervisor.
