Job Title: Medical Biller
General Description: Responsible for the timely submission of professional medical claims to insurance companies. Clarifies Insurance or self-pay information to the patients.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper.
- Explains in detail to patient's financial contracts, depending on patient’s age group, and treatment plan.
- Answer all patient or insurance telephone, and email inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
- Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints.
- Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements.
- Evaluate the patient’s insurance/financial status and establish schedule when payment/deductible and co-insurance are due.
- Processes payments from insurance companies and prepares daily transaction report for deposit. Follows and reports the status of delinquent accounts.
- Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings.
- Responsible for, posting and managing account payments.
- Responsible for submitting claims and following up with insurance companies.
- Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information. Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances
- All accounts are to be reviewed for insurance or patient follow-up
- Process refund requests, and process monthly credit card payments.
- Collects all payments when due.
Education:
Associate Degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of business and accounting processes. Certification from an accredited medical and billing school.
Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years in a medical office setting.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
