Position Summary:
DwyerOmega Engineering is looking for a high energy “hands-on” and experienced Machine Shop Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong technical background and extensive experience in CNC machining with a strong understanding of tooling concepts and machining processes. This person must be self-motivated, focused and organized individual with a knowledge and experience to build a successful operation to support our rapidly growing business.
Manager, Machining Requirements:

Oversee day to day operations of our multiple shift machining department in a fast-paced, high volume environment

Set daily priorities to achieve 100% OTD and help maintain productivity within the machine shop.

Identify and support continuous improvement efforts in CNC area (Lean, CAPEX, etc..)

Coordinate with Engineering on new product development and implementation into production

Assist with Planning/Scheduling jobs in the machine shop to meet critical production shipping dates

Must be able to motivate, provide leadership, be a positive role model and create a strong team environment

Establish and maintain a development program to train and improve operators/machinists’ knowledge and skillset

Ensure team members work in a safe environment and comply with all company safety policies
Requirements:
Machine Shop Manager Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Extensive experience in manual and CNC Machining
-
5-7 years of supervisory experience

Strong understanding of tooling concepts and machining processes

Excellent attention to detail
-
Excellent interpersonal skills
-
Experience in hiring, training, performance evaluation, coaching, and mentoring team members to drive their success.

Good communication skills (oral and in writing) and the ability to work well with technical and non-technical people are essential.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as CMMS software.
