Jewish HomeLife is looking for Bilingual Certified Nursing Assistants for our Home Care division, Eckstein Home Care.
Summary: Bilingual Certified Nursing Assistants care for residents and provide assistance in activities of daily living.
Qualifications:
- Georgia Certified Nursing Aide required.
- One year's experience in a geriatric facility strongly preferred.
- Must be able to take direction and supervision, to follow directions, and to work on a team in the care of the residents and general functions of a nursing unit.
- Bilingual to service our patients where English isn't their primary language (Spanish, French, Russian, etc.); All languages are welcomed.
Responsibilities:
- Record accurately and frequently in the electronic health record.
- Personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting) per resident choice and plan of care.
- Feeding (escort to dining room, assisting with feeding, and serving trays when appropriate) All nursing assistants must be in dining area during meals unless otherwise assigned by the nurse.
- Assist residents with activities of the day. Be alert to their comfort and needs. Answer their requests promptly.
- Keep charge nurse informed during shift about observations made concerning residents’ health, comfort and safety.
- Take and report vital signs and weights as assigned.
- Keep residents’ rooms’ neat, bed made, bedside stand clean, nursing equipment clean (i.e. bedpans, urinals, enema equipment, etc.). Obtain replacements from central supply.
- Keep dresser and closet neat and clean, especially personal clothing.
- Send soiled laundry to the laundry regularly. Hang clean clothes carefully.
- Keep wheelchairs, walkers and commodes clean.
- Keep medicine cabinet/ utility cart clean. Denture cups, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, razors, etc. must be kept clean.
- Assist with keeping the nursing unit neat, especially utility rooms, linen closets and bathrooms, as assigned daily.
- Practice economy in the use of supplies. Use equipment carefully. Report equipment needing service or repair.
- Be familiar with your residents’ activities for the day. Transport residents on time to their appointments.
- If needed, help supervise during programs.
- Encourage residents to participate in daily activities.
- Have an awareness of your assigned residents’ interests and try to participate in them.
- Stay up to date in on line training as assigned monthly.
- Attend CNA unit and other meetings as required.
Supervisory Responsibility: None for this position.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to at least 30 pounds; Stand and sit for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements: Ability to focus for extensive period of time on care of residents/patients, supervision of certified nursing assistants and resident/family interaction.
Pay: Up to $17.00 per year

Experience:
