Houston's is currently hiring for a Senior PICK Programmer to work in our corporate office in Wilsonville Oregon. Position Purpose:
The Senior PICK programmer is primarily responsible for the design, development and maintenance of software using the PICK development platform.
Functions or Duties:

Assist computer operators and/or system analysts in resolving problems with running computer programs

Mentor other PICK programmers
-
Design and maintain solutions between departmental systems; communicate effectively with other departments to understand their support needs

Evaluate user needs for new or revised systems
-
Responsible for achieving operational program status within required time parameters and with an acceptable operating performance

Develop automated recurring system reports and statements; provide one-off reports and statements as requested
-
Collaborate with IT staff to automate manual processes
-
Provide creative solutions and innovations in work related situations to mitigate risks to project success

Produce program and system documentation for systems created within the department

Foster and maintain an open, professional relationship between IT and other departments

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years experience with PICK:
-
Expert with PICK BASIC
-
Expert with PICK database systems
-
Expert with PICK TCL
-
Strong Experience with jBASE
-
Experience with UNIX shell basics (any flavor)

Experience with EDI
-
Experience with Microsoft Excel
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Must be analytical, able to concentrate and detail oriented

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with ability of doing quick analysis of complex problems with effective and efficient solutions

Experience with producing programs and system documentation

Ability to read, analyze and interpret business requirements, system documentation, and technical procedures

Ability to work independently and perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work well with others and in team environment; collaborate with other PICK programmers to implement solutions
Compensation:
-
Exempt positions: $120,000 annually
-
Quarterly bonuses.

Education and Experience:
-
Minimum 10 years of experience in PICK programming required
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field a plus

High School diploma or GED required

Experience with SQL in order to facilitate communication with SQL developers
Physical Requirements:
This position is hybrid, requiring at least a couple of days working in our Wilsonville, OR office each week. During the initial training and orientation period of the position the employee will need to report to work Monday - Friday, which could last three months or more.
