For over 25 years, North American Crane Company has been serving the Southern California region as a fully equipped 24-hour service center for overhead crane and hoist repairs, CAL/OSHA inspections, modernization, fabrication, and new equipment sales. At North American Crane, we are a family-oriented company whose mission is to create a seamless experience for our customers, and we are looking to expand our team.
Our Service Technicians provide preventive maintenance to overhead cranes.
General Duties include:
- Performing maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes at various locations.
- Being available “on-call” as part of service rotation and provide after-hours service, as required.
- Conducting extensive on-site electrical, mechanical and electronic troubleshooting to determine the cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs
- Documenting findings and make corrective recommendations to the customer.
- Completing service reports and other required and appropriate documents in a professional, accurate, neat and legible manner and submit in a timely manner.
- Maintaining regular communication with the service office and Service Supervisor.
- Following all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
- Maintaining company vehicle and uniforms in a clean and presentable manner.
- Participating in monthly safety meetings.
Required Qualifications, candidates must:
- Have a good driving record.
- Be able to read, understand and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry.
- Be willing to drive to various local locations to service cranes on-site.
- Have knowledge of 3-phase power and motor control circuits
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 Years experience with overhead crane and hoist system maintenance and repair, including mechanical and electrical work
- Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Controls and VFD knowledge
- Trouble-Shooting capabilities
- Mechanical experience with gear reducers and drive systems
- Strong background in AC and DC electromechanical and solid state motor control systems

Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
