Job Title: Logistics Specialist
Reports to: Transportation Manager

Location: Westport Plaza- St. Louis, MO
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office, 2 days Work from Home)
General Overview: Under general direction from the Transportation Manager and in accordance with applicable guidelines, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for Tracking and Tracing of inbound shipments. Issue resolutions and supporting all functions within Logistics.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Track and trace inbound shipments using multiple vessel tracking websites to determine the most accurate vessel arrival and ETA into the distribution center.

Provide updated dates to ensure ERP system is accurate

Pro-actively identify and resolve issues to ensure on-time and accurate shipments

Monitor import process and milestones to ensure shipments are meeting deadlines

Provide timely information to internal customers and others regarding in process shipments

Assist with resolving all shipping and compliance discrepancies

Ensure necessary documentation has been submitted to Brokers for Customs Clearance

Proactively review and monitor transaction holds and provide information needed in order to avoid supply chain disruption

Monitor container movement to ensure demurrage and detention is minimized, report cost and root cause of all incurred

Work with DC receiving team to ensure timely receipt of containers

Audit and approve freight invoices for payment

Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Two to three years of logistics experience, preferred, but not required.

JD Edwards knowledge preferred, but not required.

Oracle Enterprise One knowledge preferred, but not required.

Communication skills and position requires direct communication with customer, vendors, and freight lines.

Strong analytics skills to evaluate reports and data to make strategic decisions.

Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple departments within the organization.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Must be able to multitask and work independently.
