The primary focus of the Quality Assurance Technician is to inspect products at different phases in their production to ensure they consistently meet quality standards.
Duties include approving incoming materials, evaluating in-process production, and finished products and recording quality results and non-conformances.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Perform all required quality testing to ensure conformity to specifications of all finished products.
2. Performs first piece or in-process inspections, as required.
3. Reports non-conformities to supervisor.
4. Updates all related files and records.
5. Assists with or performs inspection of products returned to the plant.
6. Identifies and suggests / makes corrections for in-process production, as equipped.
7. Reviews vendor certificates and inspects incoming raw materials, where applicable, to verify conformity.
8. Participates in the update of laboratory documentation.
9. Ensures conformity of laboratory instruments to calibration requirements.
10. Support R&D, Production and Supply Chain Initiatives.
11. Conducts inventory audits and maintains lab supplies.
12. Conducts shelf-life testing of finished products.
13. Participates in the training of the production team on product quality requirements.
14. Maintains a clean and safe work area. Actively participates in laboratory organization program.
15. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
QHSE Management Program responsibilities:
1. Ensures that requirements and procedures of the QHSE Program are respected and followed.
2. Reports concerns and participates in the continuous improvement of the QHSE program.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED, at minimum.
2. Manufacturing or Quality Assurance / Control experience preferred.
3. Microsoft Office experience preferred (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)
4. Basic mathematical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
6. Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
7. Attention to detail is critical.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
1. Wears Personal Protective Equipment, as required.
2. Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk or computer.
3. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
4. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Reports to the Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment Manager or the Quality Assurance Manager.
