You Are:
You will be part of a team engaged in the validation of BIOS/FW for Server/ client PC products. You will be responsible for the development of test cases to validate the FW components of server products.
The Opportunity:
- Understand the FW features and the test cases to validate them
- Test content development - Identify, verify and document test procedure for the product features
- Defining test cases based on feature requirements and running system simulation models using Simics simulation environment
- Add test cases for new features/ IPs into existing emulation/simulation models
- Own the test case and make procedure changes when required.
- Participating in the test development review meetings for new testing strategies to detect these failures on firmware models
- Triage, file and follow through defects till closure
- Work closely with Customer team to meet deadlines in test development and execution
- Publish daily and weekly status reports
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/ computer engineering
- 2+ years of experience in validation of BIOS/FW/platform of Server/Client platforms
- Experience in designing test cases against Functional / feature requirements from design specification / Architecture specification / firmware architecture documents
- Good knowledge of server system architecture
- Understanding of system firmware boot flow
- Good Knowledge of various subsystems and interfaces in a Server system
- Ability to read and comprehend high level design from design documents (UML and Visio documents)
- Familiar with High-speed interconnect and bus technologies (PCIe, CXL, USB-C)
- SOC architecture understanding and Knowledge on IP interfaces
- Ability to understand BIOS/FW/product features and develop test cases to validate them o OS mailbox , BIOS knobs , UEFI shell interaction , register read/write ( MMIO , MSR etc. )
- Hands on experience in Linux, and UEFI shell command exposure
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with different teams
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Oregon
Compensation Range: $52,000-$78,000
Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
