Position Summary:
The Membership and Engagement Coordinator is instrumental in managing all facets of membership and engagement initiatives within the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). This role encompasses maintaining member databases, supporting chapter activities, administering event registrations, providing exceptional customer service to members, and managing email communications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Membership Management:

Maintain member and chapter databases

Support chapter petitions and chartering initiatives.

Administer and support registration during NSBE Fall Regional Conferences and Annual Convention.

Assist with customer service inquiries and membership-related concerns.

Maintain and report NSBE membership metrics/performance.
Membership Recruitment and Retention:

Coordinate membership recruitment and retention efforts.

Administer joint membership programs.
-
Administer International Support Letters for international members.

Manage and maintain membership and registration inventory.

Provide 1st level support for membership issues and manage membership email and voicemail boxes.
Event Coordination:

Administer and support registration for regional conferences and the Annual Convention.

Manage and maintain membership/registration materials and paraphernalia inventory.

Coordinate visa request process for international members attending the Annual Convention.
Customer Service and Inbox Management:

Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries via telephone and email.

Manage and prioritize membership email and voicemail boxes, ensuring timely responses.

Address members' concerns and provide assistance in a courteous and efficient manner.

Coordinate promotional mailings and other initiatives for specified membership areas.
Communication:

Work collaboratively with the Membership Team to maintain an effective communication network.

Participate in regular staff meetings and provide updates on membership-related activities.

Communicate membership updates and initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
Support:

Aid in supporting leadership on membership team business processes.

Be professional, organized, and approachable.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Membership and Engagement.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 4 years of work experience in a similar role or industry.

Comfortable with quickly learning registration management systems, databases, membership management software, and other technologies.

Proficient in compiling and organizing electronic data from various sources.

Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage daily tasks effectively.

Familiarity with registration processes and events.

Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting original content and proofreading/editing.

Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
-
Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, team environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to excellent customer service.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

TRAVEL:
Travel is required for the Annual National Convention, Fall Regional Conferences, National Transition and Leadership Conferences. Occasional travel to other conferences, chapters, and other industry- related events may be required and assigned by management.
