Job Description:
The Office Specialist, Cashier position is directly accountable to the Business Office Manager for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.
- Collect payments and issue receipts of all funds received by the college. This function includes the collection of fees during registration and drop/add periods, as well as daily cash receipts processing.

Receipt payments received by mail in a timely manner.

Reconcile cash batch at end of workday and prepare bank deposit documents.

Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable in verifying daily reports, updating receivable/obligation cards and billing.

Respond to questions and inquiries from individuals at the Business Office counter and over the telephone.

As a part of the college's risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Cashier Supervisor or Business Office Manager.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one to three years relevant work experience required.

Associate's degree preferred.

Previous work experience with automated accounting systems including accounts receivable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

General knowledge of office procedures.
-
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Excellent customer service skills.
