Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller with expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS) to join our healthcare team in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience in medical billing processes and procedures, coupled with a deep understanding of QMS principles. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our billing operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of medical billing codes, procedures, and regulations to accurately process claims and invoices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and denials.
- Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) to optimize billing processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement in billing practices and procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to staff members on QMS protocols and best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track billing accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with QMS standards.
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Generate reports and analyze data to assess billing performance and identify opportunities for process optimization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Medical Biller (CMBA) credential preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
