We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team.
Job Summary:
The senior process engineer will work in partnership with operations and IT to identify and implement strategic objectives across our tire recycling organization that will result in operational efficiencies and energy management solutions. These initiatives will include but not be limited to, real-time performance monitoring software implementation, process flow optimization, operating procedures documentation, and site mentoring with a continuous improvement philosophy.
Job Responsibilities:
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and gain efficiencies in our operations, this role will play a key part in driving and achieving those objectives.
- Work with IT to implement our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) across manufacturing sites
- Champion sites’ engagement with performance monitoring tools to drive efficiencies
- Identify areas that need to be improved or changed to make a process efficient and less costly
- Work with sites and IT to make changes to Ignition and PLCs to support the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Prepare reports with charts and diagrams to demonstrate to management how processes can be altered and expected results from those changes
- Analyze product specifications to develop process and design alternatives
- Drive projects to completion and meet timeline and budget objectives
- Create or update written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to project assignments
- Supervise contractors and other personnel on projects and activities
- Demonstrate continuous improvement with respect to increasing job knowledge and proficiency related to engineering in the tire recycling industry, as well as technical understanding/problem solving capability
- Stay current with industry best practices and technologies
- Act as the liaison to the Department of Energy’s Better Plants program and manage the company’s energy intensity goals associated with membership
- 75% travel to company locations

- Prefer experience in industries such as product recycling, waste processing, mining or other industries involved with heavy duty equipment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use computer software to support them
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Required Experience:
- 15+ years of operations and engineering experience in manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience with process improvement tools and technologies required
- Knowledge and hands on experience with heavy duty processing equipment and conveyance
- Process Controls experience
- Significant experience in labor intensive production environments
- Experience with material flow/sizing (waste processing, mining production) preferred
