By joining the Division of Driver Licensing as a Transportation Hearing Officer in Fayette County, you will conduct informal hearings to determine the action taken regarding an individual’s driving privilege.
Holders of the Transportation Hearing Officer position will complete tasks such as:
- Interpret Driver License Regulations, hold hearings to determine a driver’s eligibility for probation or suspension.
- Interpret, train and issue federal/state laws, regulations, policies and procedures that relate to the Division of Driver License.
- Schedule and hold discretionary and special hearings for point violations, mandatory suspensions and fraud.
- Provide professional customer service for all Driver License services.
Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
- The ability to interpret records in Kentucky Driver's License Information System (KDLIS).
- Learn laws and statutes that are required to administer license.
- How to properly hold hearings in a legal just manner.
- Collect and process Driver License fees, reconcile and create daily reports.
Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
- Experience with Hearings, Court & Identity verification.
- Experience with collecting money and providing a service.
- Experience with record analysis and data management in processing systems.
- Experience providing professional customer service and training to subordinates.
