Position Summary:
The Process Engineer develops and optimizes productions processes and equipment to achieve the safety, quality, output, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. A process engineer is responsible for identifying production problems and likewise identifying methods for resolution. They recommend and implement changes to equipment, work methods and other aspects of production to improve the utilization of all relevant resources.
Outline of Duties:
- Studies impact of line speed changes on staffing, processes & quality control
- Analyzes process efficiency, recommends, designs, and implements continuous improvement and headcount reduction kaizen.
- Evaluates powertrain components for ease of installation and finished powertrain quality.
- Studies new and existing powertrain components for cost reduction & continuous improvement ideas
- Coordinate part investigation trials to determine part changes impact to existing assembly line.
- Support model development activity to evaluate process challenges and installation concerns.
- Documents test results, using cameras, spreadsheets, documents, or other tools.
- Bulk material cost & waste analysis
- Scrap materials cost and waste analysis
- Jig replacement & test bench harness ordering for normal production wear
- Analyze downtime information for high frequency processes, studies and recommends kaizens for OPR improvement.
- Review process related safety concerns for counter-measure potential.
- Assist in Staffing Coordination.
- SBR best practice coordination
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field with 1+ years’ experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field plus 5+ years relevant experience
