Provide full-time, Integrated Logistics Support to the USCG National Security Cutter (NSC) Acquisition Program in Washington, DC. Employ all elements of logistics to assist with the day to day logistics needs of the specific surface Program Office in formulating, coordinating, implementing and maintaining the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program.
POSITION SUMMARY:
TMMG is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer to support the National Security Cutter (NSC) Acquisition Program.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead electrical engineer for the US Coast Guard's NSC acquisition program. Provide power systems and controls engineering support for ships in both production and fielded.
- Review and/or create engineering charges for ship power generating and electrical distribution systems. Analyze non-electrical engineering changes for impacts on the use and distribution of electrical power and the relevant interfaces.
- Review control schematics, including PLC integration, for shipboard systems. Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis for control systems. Act as the NSC programs primary representative to NSWC Carderock Philly for the CGMCS control system on the NSC.
- Perform or review Electrical Plant Load Analysis in accordance with IEEE, ABS, and USCG requirements.
- Perform or review Breaker Coordination Studies for shipboard electrical distribution systems.
- Review electrical distribution drawings, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics for completeness and conformance to the NSC technical specification.
- Develop work items, cost estimates, drawings, and technical reports for assigned projects.
- Mentor Junior Engineers for engineering ability development.
- Conduct ship checks when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Certfication Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree electrical engineering or other similar engineering program.
- Four (4) years post-graduate experience in marine power plants, propulsion control systems, electrical and lighting distribution system , controls systems, installations and operations.
- Familiar with the development of work items, drawings, analysis, cost estimates, and technical reports for ship repair or related projects.
- Participation in a DOD/DHS ACAT Level I (major) acquisition program a plus.
