We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to serve as a Resident Assistant in our dynamic community. The ideal candidate will provide support to our residents, ensuring their overall well-being and quality of life. This role is responsible for creating a positive and welcoming living environment, fostering a sense of community, and promoting independence and dignity among residents.
Duties:
- Provide direct support and care to residents in their daily activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal care.
- Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while ensuring the highest level of dignity and respect.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
- Monitor and report any changes in a resident's condition or behavior to the care team.
- Promote socialization and community engagement through activities such as games, outings, and events.
- Assist with memory care and other specialized care programs as needed.
- Provide first aid and other basic medical support as necessary.
- Lift and transfer residents as needed, while adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties and reporting any hazards or concerns.
Skills:
- Experience in providing direct support and care to seniors or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of care needs.
- Understanding of memory care and other specialized care programs.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and transfer residents, with a willingness to learn proper lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with meal preparation and senior care practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
