Principal Functions: The digital communications specialist creates and distributes compelling content externally through social media platforms and internally through engaging email campaigns. This is a full-time non-exempt position. Five days a week flexible schedule including Sundays with occasional nights and weekends.

Qualifications for the Position:

Creative thinker with a passion for creating digital content for the church.

Experience with social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

Commitment to support the mission of The Church of St. John the Divine and the Episcopal Church.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.

Ability to create photo and video content for publication on social media platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong understanding of social media best practices and trends.

Experience creating engaging newsletters and analyzing email performance.

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Bachelor's degree along with three years of relevant experience preferred.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Manage social media accounts, including scheduling and publishing posts, monitoring comments and messages, and responding to inquiries.

Analyze social media metrics and insights to track the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Lay out and schedule weekly email content including, but not limited to, weekly newsletters, stand-alone emails, and daily devotionals.

Capture compelling images and video content to utilize in social media on Sunday mornings.

Assist production team with Sunday live stream setup and execution.

Assist with graphic design and photography as needed.
