Position Summary:
The Housing Relocation and Community Specialist works on assigned projects related to grant administration, public housing, workforce development, and other related community development projects. The Specialist will assist in business development as well as project work and will provide general assistance to non-profit, public and private sector clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate will work on multiple projects and will have a “can do” attitude for learning and adapting to new projects and opportunities. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Sample projects are as follows:
- immediaye Need 1: Assist with housing relocation of current public housing residents by providing case management support and referral services to participating/assigned households in addition to assistance with mobility counseling, unit identification and relocation.
- Sample Project 2: Provide administration for the grants process throughout all stages including: receiving and assessing grant applications; tracking and responding to applicant communication; processing grant awards and disbursements; assuring that submitted documentation meets all legal requirements; and maintaining accurate and timely records of grant-making and other programmatic activities.
- Sample Project 3: Assist organizations seeking grants and other opportunities by searching for appropriate opportunities and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Manage the entire search and application process, and follow up with required grant and financial reporting.
- Sample Project 4: Propose, create and provide training and education to eligible workers through standing and ad hoc Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate’s degree in the human services fields or two (2) years of equivalent experience
- Experience with housing relocation, property management, or other real estate related activitiea highly preferred
- Previous work with a state or other public agency or human development related non-profit organization.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Lived experience in various professional roles and various types of nonprofit organizations and structures
- Experience providing technical assistance and consulting to organizational leaders
- Experience developing and delivering trainings, webinars and group presentations

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
