The Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering. This is a full-time, exempt position, based at our San Leandro location with potential work at our Livermore location and comes with a competitive compensation and benefits package. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
Job Description
· Design and implement system protection and control systems.
· Review electrical system specifications that are submitted to Trayer as sales bids to ensure all technical requirements are met, advise on required drawings and lead the design and implementation of assigned projects with little to no supervision.
· Assist with the development of functional requirements and specifications
· Ability to manage assigned projects , schedules, and budgets.
· Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout creation on CAD software, SolidWorks Electrical or similar software preferred.
· Inspect electrical system customer project work for quality control and assurance
· Identify and recommend solutions to technical design problems involving electrical system equipment
· Define requirements and test and validation plans for electrical components.
· Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
· Work closely with Production team to troubleshoot production issues.
· Contribute to the creation of final test plans, O&M manuals, product specifications.
· Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain electrical instruments and testing equipment if needed.
· Monitor industry standards (IEEE – IEC – UL, etc.) and trends to stay current for existing products and new product design and development
· Consult with Production, Operations, and Quality teams to answer various electrical engineering related questions or resolve issues that may arise during production.
· Identify and help to resolve any issues encountered during the development and manufacturing of new products.
· Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify issues and drive design choices.
· Work closely with other engineers, designers, and project managers to develop integrated solutions.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
· 3 to 5 years experience in electrical engineering
· Manufacturing environment background desirable
· Knowledge of and experience with power engineering system fundamentals
· Experience with Logic / PLC programming and electronic control design, circuit design and analysis.
· Hands on experience for engineering development work and addressing production issues.
· Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
· Strong SolidWorks skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent communication and project management skills
· Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative.
· Able to work independently and be a flexible team player.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
